STEWART'S CAREER JOURNEY
Stewart’s first role within finance in 2000 was with Liberty Bishop’s Limited and umbrella service as their Internal Audit Administrator before progressing to manage Monex Solutions, which provided a pay-and-bill solution to new start recruitment agencies.
In 2005, Stewart was offered the position of Financial Controller at MSI Group Ltd, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the pay-and-bill, compliance, administration, and accounts team as the agency grew from £1.8m to £15m turnover.
In 2009, Stewart was approached to become the Commercial Director at Total Back Office Solutions Ltd (TBOS), where, over 13 years, he helped to grow the business to look after the outsourced back office, funding, and accountancy of over 120+ recruitment agencies with a combined turnover of £243m with 33 internal staff. During this time, Stewart helped to set up over 250+ recruitment agencies and set up over 50+ invoice finance arrangements. Within TBOS, Stewart helped set up a pay-and-bill funding solution (TBOS Contracting Solutions Ltd), which helped finance UK and overseas placements in over 170+ countries and in 15 different currencies alongside an umbrella company service (Protek Pay Ltd).
In early 2023, the TBOS Group was sold, and Stewart remained onboard for 5 months to help with the transition before taking 5 months out in August 2023 to look after his new daughter and evaluate his next project.
In January 2024, MAYACHI was born to use Stewart’s 13-year knowledge to provide Non-Executive Finance Director services to new and existing recruitment agencies.
After completing his studies at the University of Manchester, John began a full-time career in a graduate programme within the wine trade, working across many commercial and operational aspects of a business.
JOHN'S CAREER JOURNEY
John then transitioned into the tech sector, joining an established global timesheet software provider with a £5 million turnover, where he progressed to Managing Director.
Moving on to a new challenge, John moved into running the startup Practical Software, which was taking to market a brand-new end-to-end back-office platform for recruitment businesses and umbrella companies. Wearing many hats, he was deeply involved in all areas of the business, growing the client base, shaping the product and new features, and managing day-to-day operational needs. In the post-COVID era, with demand for outsourcing, the business evolved from a pure software provider into a managed service operation.
After five years, John joined the newly formed umbrella company Payday Cloud, where he helped build the business from the ground up. Over 18 months, he managed client payroll operations and established a new sales team before taking a career break with the birth of his first child.
John joined MAYACHI with nearly a decade of experience supporting recruitment clients across software, back-office, managed services, finance, payroll and umbrella solutions to help business owners take their recruitment agencies to the next level.
