On Tuesday, 18th March 2025, the Recruitment Agency Expo kicked off at the Excel Centre in London for a two-day celebration of the recruitment industry. This bi-annual event is always well attended by recruitment owners who come to meet industry experts and suppliers, explore new technologies, and attend valuable seminars.
MAYACHI was in attendance this year for both Tuesday and Wednesday and here are our highlights:
WHY WE ATTENDED REC EXPO
The Recruitment Agency Expo has always been a great way for MAYACHI to meet with many industry suppliers in one place and make new connections during the two days. We took the opportunity to promote MAYACHI’s services by wearing branded t-shirts and speaking to as many people as possible about what we offer.
THE SEMINARS
On the first day, I attended the panel session with Simon Bliss from the TEAM Network, where he interviewed three TEAM members about their recruitment experiences. Wendy McDougall also delivered an insightful talk on using your CRM to win new business. On day two, I attended a panel session with Vincent Seddon from Simplicity, discussing how to scale your recruitment business, followed by Saeed Bor’s presentation on transforming your P&L and Nitin Sharma’s RecTalk Live session. All the seminars were well attended and provided valuable insights into the speakers’ areas of expertise.

CAN YOU GENERATE LEADS BY VISITING THESE EVENTS?
While MAYACHI doesn’t have a stand at each event, there are still opportunities to win business by engaging with exhibitors and building a network of contacts. For instance, MAYACHI secured a meeting with a recruitment agency looking to buy an agency via an MBO, thanks to an introduction from a fellow industry supplier at the show. This opportunity highlights how attending Expos is crucial for brand awareness, even without having a stand.
OUR REC EXPO HIGHLIGHTS
The biggest highlight every year is the chance to network with fellow suppliers and industry professionals. Over the two days, MAYACHI met with more than 50 different suppliers to discuss current business trends, educate each other on the services offered, and build mutual trust for future referrals. This networking culminated at the end of the first day when 15 suppliers gathered for drinks, spending the evening discussing potential opportunities.
WHAT DID WE GAIN FROM THE EVENT?
The Expo is always an excellent opportunity for MAYACHI to be seen by many different people within the industry, all in one place. Instead of arranging multiple meetings over several days, we can connect with numerous suppliers, recruiters, and industry professionals over two days, making it a far more cost-effective use of time.
SEE YOU AT THE NEXT REC EXPO!
Following the success of the London Expo, we are certainly planning to attend the next Expo in Birmingham in October. The Birmingham Expo differs slightly from the London event, as most visitors will need to drive to attend, meaning they typically come with a specific purpose in mind, such as exploring new technology or meeting industry professionals. Nonetheless, MAYACHI sees this as another fantastic opportunity to network with the recruitment community and gain insights into industry developments.
The Rec Expo is a great ambassador for the recruitment industry, showcasing how new technology and methodology continue to drive the industry forward, ensuring that essential placements are made both in the UK and internationally.
